EAST LOTHIAN BOWLING REPORT

Jamie Higgins and Emma Brown were both in action for Scottish League Select teams against current league champions West Lothian and Auchinleck respectively last Saturday at West of Scotland as part of the SIBA’s Scottish Development Week.   The select teams were successful against their opponents with Jamie and Emma both in winning rinks and Jamie also had the distinction of being voted “Man of the Match”.

Garden County

One of the last championship finals of the outdoor season to be played was at Gifford where two true legends of the game in the shape of Alex Marshall MBE and Willie Wood MBE met in the final.  It was the double Commonwealth Gold Medal winner “Tattie” who came out on top on this occasion by 21-11 to cap an outdoor season others could only dream of.

Inter County Top 5

West Barns B. C. captured the Inter County Top Five Single title at Sighthill BC in Edinburgh last Sunday following a 5-0 points victory over Castle Douglas in the final having edged out the challenge of Edinburgh champions Carrick Knowe in a tense 3-2 affair in the semi-final. The last four encounter against Carrick Knowe was always going to be an enthralling encounter with four current internationalists, two ex-internationalists and also throw in an Edinburgh Champion of Champion runner-up for good measure.
