East Lothian star Ewan Fallen is in the running for being voted the gents Young Player of The Year at tomorrow’s (Sat) SIBA Awards Function being held at Glasgow IBC. Fallen comes into the reckoning as the reigning Scottish Junior Singles Champion and joins John Fleming Jr of Inverclyde and Darren Weir of Prestwick Ambassador in the final list of the top three nominations.
The West Lothian IBC banner is also represented at the awards with the rink of Bryan Cooper, James Speirs, Thomas Mann, and Neil Speirs in the final three in the running for Outstanding Performance of the Year having captured the British Isles Fours crown for a second time. The Gents Player of The Year will emerge as Stewart Anderson (Blantyre), Darren Burnett (Arbroath) or the previously mentioned John Fleming Jnr while Lesley Doig (East Fife), Leanne Furye (Arbroath), Margaret Letham (Blantyre), and Claire Walker (Blantyre) are the contenders for Ladies Player of the Year.
