The sister and brother act of Gillian and Scott Mackintosh have booked a return passage to the national championships at Ayr Northfield next month with the London Road stars capturing the Mixed Pairs title in District 14. It looked for a time in the qualifying final that the 2011 national champions were heading for the exit door when trailing 13-9 to experienced and talented Maitland duo Alison McDougall and Alan Trotter – with just two ends to play. The Maitland support will have one of their own to cheer at Ayr however with Jim Robertson capturing the District crown in the Seniors Singles – defeating Ian Ramsay of Leith, 21-12. Willowbrae captured the honours in the Seniors Fours with Stuart Pendreich skipping Colin Arnott, Ian Paterson, and John Blyth to an 11-7 win over Dean.
