Bainfield ladies have strong form at home but find it tougher to hit the heights on the road and the triple joint leaders of Division 1C face a tough test in today’s visit to The Park of Peace Stadium in Bathgate where they clash with Balbardie in their national league fixture.
Last weekend’s defeat from Teviotdale at Hawick hasn’t caused panic in the ranks with Bainfield naming an unchanged line up and a dependency on the same four skips in the shape of Mandy O’Donnell, Isabel Anderson, Anna Anderson, and Marion Dickson.
Balbardie are tough nuts to crack at home and will be boosted by the return of full cap experienced Sharon Leitch who joins Margo Duff, Delia Flanningan, and Elize Miller as the four home skips. Leitch takes over from fellow cap Angie Uttley who operates as a standby player while Miller comes in for the unavailable Pat Purdie. Gillian Hamilton and Kim Ross come in for Catherine Lochran and Pat Aitchison.
East Lothian and West Lothian are the other two joint leaders and they clash at The Alex Marshall Arena where the home side welcome back Janet Fairnie at skip and she joins Emma Logan, Yvonne Veitch, and Lauren Baillie.
West Lothian bring in Crina Docherty and Jennifer Steadwood for Jill Dickie and Sheila Oxley in a team skipped by Jennifer Sneddon, Jean Brown, Ann Clark, and Lisa Barrett.
East Lothian seniors made it four wins out of five to stay clear of the field in the East B Division of the national league having performed up to the mark to score an impressive 78-62 win over West Lothian at Livingston.
Midlothian failed to make home advantage count in a hard fought battle at Dalkeith that saw them suffer a 64-58 defeat from Balbardie while a Borders derby saw home side Tweedbank edge a 58-57 nail biter over Teviotdale.
Balbardie gents top the leader board in Division 1North of the national league with two wins out of two and bid to complete the hat trick in today’s long trek north to face foot of the table Turriff.
