Read MoreThe Seniors Scottish Cup second round seen East Lothian face local rivals Midlothian at East Fife last Wednesday. Early on the Auld Yins were in good form and after five ends held an eight shot lead and rapidly increased this to over twenty shots, however, by the tenth end Midlothian had reduced the deficit to four shots. As the game progressed the rink of Graham Robertson never looked in doubt of a win as they held a commanding lead and finished strongly to win 21-9, however W W Wood MBE and his rink had let an early 10-1 lead slip and never scored again to eventually lose out 10-16. The rink of Tommy Young found themselves one down with two to play, however, a 3, 1 finish seen them over the line by a 16-13 scoreline. This finish virtually secured victory as six points were guaranteed with two rinks winning and the shots win assured. In the final game Andy Burt’s rink were one down playing the last and recorded two shots to win their game and make the final score 8-2 to East Lothian. The next round should have been played on Wednesday of this week, however, due to a re-arranged game will most likely be played during the next week.
