The juniors then went on to defeat local rivals Midlothian 7-2 in the semi and then overcame last year’s winners West Lothian in what turned out to be a tight final. The triple won 5 games from 5 while Gordon was also undefeated with 4 wins and a peel. This was Gordon’s last under 25 game for East Lothian and what a string of performances he put in. It has been a great season for the juniors winning both the Borders tournament and the Top Ten, runners-up in the Calder Cup and semi-finalists in the league. Convenors Stevie and Mikey Greenan would like to thank all the juniors but especially Gordon White, Steven White, Kieran Frame, Mark McWilliams, Craig Bell and Sam Newlands who have played their last games at this level.
The indoor season is now up and running and while the gents and youths don’t begin their campaigns yet the Ladies and Seniors begin their campaigns this week.

The Senior brigade played their first game in the Scottish Senior League on Wednesday 28th September against Teviotdale at Meadowmill. The team selected was as follows: Ross Maguire, David McGill, Billy Higgins, W W Wood (Skip) Lessel Middler, Jock Brodie, B J Smith, Peter Laidlaw (Skip) Peter Fallen, Jim Robertson, Brian Bisset, Tom Young (Skip) J P Hamilton, Jim McLeod, Ronnie Douglas, Alastair Russell (Skip) Reserves: George Gray, Adam Davidson, Davie Pryde and Kenny Morgan. The Seniors are next due to face West Lothian at Inveralmond on Wednesday 5th October.
The youths Friday sessions do not start until Friday 7th October from 2-4 pm, while the Saturday sessions begin on the 8th from 8-10am. There is a Scottish Masters play-off at the club this Sunday at 4pm for all league players.
A reminder to all that the entry sheets are on each respective board for the internal Scottish Knock Out competitions that begin in October, names have to be entered by the 30th September.
Those playing at East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club are reminded that all subscriptions should be paid by 30th September; costs are £58 for full membership, £30 for Junior and £5 for youths.
Finally, our new Bowls Coordinator Billy Mellors has managed to incorporate bowls into the community sports day at Preston Lodge HS taking place this Saturday between 11am and 1pm. Anyone wishing to try bowls is encouraged to come along and give it a try. This is open to all age groups and our excellent coaches will be there to give you some tips.
