Double figure wins on the rinks skipped by Neil Speirs and Steven Fleming were ably supported by the positive contributions from Grant Logan, Thomas Mann, and last seasons ‘player of the year’, Andy Dunnett. Fleming added 1, 1, 2, 1, 2 to lead 19-6 after 14 ends then skipped Drew Paterson, Paul Sweeney, and Sandy McDougall to a 24-12 win over Robert Marshall. Logan (Grant) produced a late run of 1, 1, 4 to tip the scales and skip Calum Black, Blair Mackie, and Gary Orr to a 19-12 win over John McDermott.
Mann whizzed into a 16-6 lead with sizzling counts of 3, 4, 5 but then had to fight hard to skip Jamie Aitken, Robbie Cuthill, and Cameron Greer to a 21-18 win over James Hogg. Dunnett led 13-6 after 15 ends then became hard pressed to skip Ewan Shearer, Scott Mushett, and Calum Logan to a 19-14 win over John Ramsay.
