The exit of Grant Logan the No2 seed and legend of 4 WLM titles was the major shock of the night with last year’s runner up losing out in a tough 21-18 battle with high profile Glenmavis warrior, Walter McDougall. McDougall – a past Champion of Champions and last years losing WLM semi finalist is one of the most prominent non-seeds.
Brian Craig the 2014 Master and No9 seed from Glenmavis also bit the dust as the 21-12 victim of bright Broxburn talent Scott McMaster.
A close call for two seeds saw Raymond Logan (11) edge a 21-19 win over John Reid of Bathgate while Ewan Shearer (6) nosed a 21-19 thriller against last years quarter-finalist Davy Hay of Polbeth.
Glenn King the No 13 seed from West Calder advanced his claims at the 21-10 expense of Alan Murphy of Bellsburn while Darren Pearce (15) beat David Gemmell Jnr of Winchburgh, 21-16.
Andrew Walker of Winchburgh’s 21-12 win was a notable performance at the expense of ace Hamilton Trophy skip Steven Fleming of Linlithgow and follows his defeat of John Aitken the 4 times Master from Kirkliston.
