The last silverware of the outdoor bowling season was won by Cockenzie & Port Seton Senior team (pictured) who captured the John McDonald trophy last Thursday following a 28-21 win over Macmerry in the final.
Last Saturday seen the league presentation take place at Cockenzie and Port Seton when all of the clubs in the county are invited, although only half attended, to collect their trophies and celebrate the end of the season. Pictured are Jock Brodie presenting the Senior League Division One title to Jock Scott representing East Linton who won the trophy for the first time in their history and the Youth League winners from EL Co-op.
The indoor season is now upon us with the Alex Marshall Arena, home of East Lothian Indoor Bowls, fully. Members are reminded that fees can be paid via online banking, all details on the ELIBC Facebook page with all fees due by Monday 30th September.
The indoor youth section for all youths from beginners to the more experienced players starts back this Friday 27th September from 2pm through to 4pm and will then take place each Friday throughout the season. All youths are welcome to come along and “Try Bowls” at this Friday afternoon session, especially those who have played the outdoor game and wish to keep bowling over the Autumn and Winter seasons. The Saturday morning sessions will commence on Saturday 28th between 8 and 10am, whilst the fixtures for the youths are not issued until October.
