West Lothian IBC have named their gents trial team for Saturdays build up match at the Inveralmond Stadium in preparation for the launch of their Premier League campaign on Saturday 12th October. The opening session of play in the trial features Calum Black, David Wilson Snr, Robbie Cuthill Jnr, and Ian Drysdale versus Nathan McKendrick, Ian Kilgallon, George Sneddon, and Mark Allison. Jim Speirs, Scott McMaster, Cameron Fraser, and James Speirs v Connor McKendrick, Blair Mackie, Paul Brown, and Cameron Greer. Players not listed in the trial but available for selection are; Calum Logan, Raymond Logan, Jamie Edwards, Bryan cooper, Craig Moss, Jamie Aitken, Stuart Johnston, Neil Speirs, Gary Orr, Dougie Mitchell, and Richard Mark. West Lothian open with a long haul visit to Fraserburgh while other teams in the A Division are, Falkirk, Midlothian, Ardrossan and West of Scotland.
The rival B Division features, Abbeyview, East Lothian. Aberdeen, Lanarkshire, Prestwick, and Blantyre.
Balbardie IBC parade their skills in the B section of Division 1 where they open with a tough visit to Auchinleck and are joined by Tweedbank, Galleon, Paisley, and East Kilbride.
Meanwhile the ladies of West Lothian IBC launch their campaign in Division 1 East away to Teviotdale this Saturday but their neighbour rivals Balbardie have an idle week.
West Lothian IBC seniors suffered a narrow defeat away to Abbeyview in their opening match of the National East A League losing 62-59 in what was a hard fought match. The team was idle in yesterday’s fixtures are in back in action next Wednesday when they are at home to Fintry.
Balbardie Seniors got off to a winning start in their East B campaign making home carpet advantage count in a 69-59 victory over Teviotdale. Yesterday’s fixtures saw Balbardie visit Headwell while next Wednesday they are at home to Falkirk.
Friday night (tomorrow) is Player of the Year night for the West Lothian Bowling Association with Stoneyburn Community BC the venue for a 6-30pm start.
